Building the Temple of Edfu.

Inside the temple of Edfu an entire wall is dedicated to the story of its construction. Here are three excerpts from this story. On the left the Pharaoh pours sand as part of the construction process as Horus looks on. In the center photo, the pharoah presents bricks for Horus to inspect. The photo on the right shows the pharoah and the goddess Seshatperforming what is called the stretching the cord ceremony. They are each pulling a stick and stretching what looks like a giant rubber band. This signifies the act of measuring and laying out the foundation of the temple.
