1922 The Genoa State Bank Genoa, Colorado Savings/Check Book 98 Years Old NICE: $6
Cleaning out storage and found this! Genoa Colorado is now pretty much a semi-ghost town in the old dust bowl belt of our country. Even in the 20s there was less than 200 people in the town. This bank book truly is a piece of American history. It is in extremely nice condition. Snap works perfectly and is secure. When you open book, there is a check protection page (photo 2). Inside the front cover is a place that contains a saving account record booklet that was never used. There are several checks gone and only a few of those have record showing who check was written to and for what amount. First check was written to JJ Delaney for $205.37 (a pretty hefty amount in 1922) on 2/7/1922. Second stub that has writing on it says: written to H Gorge $1.92 on same date, Next stub was written to self on Feb 8, 1922 for $2.20. 3 more stubs with no info on them. There are 18 checks left in book. Nice graphics of a farm with words underneath that says: "The Bank That Backs The Farmer". Nice clean book. No odors.Shipping first class in padded envelope between two pieces of cardboard. Payment/contact must be made within 2 days of sale closure. I never charge a packaging or handling fee as I used recycled materials and feel shipping is already too high. Same day shipping if payment is made early enough in the day. Always 24 hours shipping except for days when post office is closed. Thanks for stopping by and viewing my listing. Have fun offerding!!
