・description of the video

This is a photograph of Japanese people about 150years ago.

Their clothes are dyed Aizome.

Aizome can dye many kind of cloth. So many products are dyed by Aizome such as kimono and tenugui Japanese towel.

Ai, Japanese indigo is harvested twice a year from late July to August.

We crush the collected leaves and add water to ferment.

If this is continued for 100 days, the dye will be completed.

We add the dye to the barrel, add water, and stir them.

Let it rest a little and stir again, we repeat this process to create bubbles called \"Ai no Hana(藍の華)\".

The indigo liquid is thus completed.

When the cloth is put in a barrel and pulled up, the cloth first turns green.

After touching the air, it turns blue from green.

We repeat this process and dry it to make the deeper color.
