Very nice Atari Airborne Avenger machine (1977), and yes it works!
Playfield in particular is very nice, backglass has a few minor scratches that have been sealed, cabinet the usual scuffs and scrapes but no major issues - nice overall. Has new rubbers and working bulbs throughout.
The only significant flaws are rub marks on the edges of the lock down bar (see pic) and a ~2" crack in the upper left corner of the display cover (see pic). The left coin chute switch does not work (no mech on that one), and the score display takes about 2 minutes to warm up, but always comes on, is bright, and works properly (occasionally need to adjust the contacts on the glass if a segment fails to light).
The PCB, playfield mechanics, sound, and scoring work as they should, have not had any issues since repair. Please note that Atari pinballs have the reputation for being a little fussy with mechanics and the like, so this is recommended for someone who has the knowledge and/or interest to care for it as needed, not just something to get for the kids to play. Accepts coins for credits via the right coin chute.
Look this machine up on the Internet Pinball Database for more information. I have a manual PDF I can send to you. Note that it is larger (~29" wide) and heavier than standard pinball machines of the time. The "nice" part of it is that the electronics are in the main body, so nothing important has to be disconnected to move it.
I am always happy to answer questions, but the machine is not guaranteed once it leaves my possession as it is 43 years old now! (although the fact that it is still working at this age says something).Machine is sold AS-IS, with no warranty after leaving my house. I can help with loading on my end at pickup. Please ask questions. Thanks!
