Butte Montana Pollution Stereoview photo circa 1916:
$13

Unique Stereo view of Butte, Montana, showing boy and copper smelters in background and reflected in water.
Butte had an extraordinary air pollution back then, so much that the street lights had to be on 24 hours a day.
From Keystone View Company. Text on back side references 1915 facts. This was the time of great labor unrest in Butte copper mines that culminated in strikes in 1917 and 1920 by the Industrial Workers of the World (I.W.W. or Wobblies) who were protesting unsafe working conditions.
Note that the card is curved and does not lay flat. Otherwise, condition would be excellent.
Price reflects condition, scarcity and historical importance regarding industrial pollution and environmental impacts.
