Classic Pens is known for pushing the boundaries of pendesign, blending Japanese mastery and Western sensibilities in original andexciting Maki-E works. The LB2 Kimono epitomizes this philosophy. The Duofoldis one of the most celebrated fountain pen models of all time. The LB2 Kimonoseries is official, the pens carry the Parker Duofold warranty and after salesservice. The Maki-E work carries the guarantee of Classic Pens. Parker and Classic Pens havehad a long and fruitful working relationship. This relationship was furtherstrengthened in 2001, when Classic Pens used the Parker Duofold Centennial asthe canvas for its new LS Collection of Maki-E Art Pens. The LB2 Kimono seriesis yet another testament of the continued and successful positive relationshipbetween these two companies.

The LB2 Kimono series was launched in 2006. It comprises100 fountain pen duets in complimentary colors. The green theme pen is namedShinrin (Forest) while the orange-brown theme pen is Sakyu (Desert). The Maki-Etechnique employed is Togidashi. The artist paints the urushi color lacquers, then sprays fine gold dust on the cap, barrel and section of the pen. He rubsand burnishes the urushi lacquer to reveal the design and to impart a lustrousshimmer.TheMaki-E design is enhanced with horizontal high relief rings. The artist paintsthese with urushi lacquer, then spreads gold or silver powder on alternatingrings. He paints more lacquer and finally polishes to a lustrous finish. Therings impart a unique and pleasant tactile feel to the pen. EveryLB2 Kimono pen carries the prestigious Red Seal signature of the artist TatsuyaTōdō on the pen barrel. He paints the individual limited edition number of eachpen on the barrel end. TheLB2 Kimono pens are packaged individually. The LB2 Kimono pens arehoused individually in hand made presentation cases. They are accompanied by acertificate of authenticity and lifetime warranty. The color schemes of thecases and certificates compliment those of the LB2 Kimono pens.

Theartist Tatsuya Tōdō is one of the younger Maki-E masters in Japan. He has beenawarded many highly coveted prizes for the excellence of his work. Classic Pensand Tatsuya Tōdō have had a fruitful working relationship since 2001. Theartist has painted several novel designs for Classic Pens which are part of theLS and AL Signature Collections of Maki-E Art Pens. The LB2 Kimono Shinrin& Sakyu are hand crafted, with natural precious materials. The artist workswith large batches of 40 pens at a time. The mixing and application of thevarious colors and urushi lacquer with this size batch is very efficient interms of time and costs. The quality of the natural precious materials andwork, however, is always maintained. Traditional Maki-E art mostlyrepresents scenes of flora and fauna, or themes of Eastern culture. ClassicPens Maki-E designs have often focused on geometry, color, texture and thehighest levels of artistry and skill. The LB2 Kimono is faithful to thistradition. More than that, it is a novel idea, an original all over the world for us the shipping is an important issue. We use only high quality materials such as double wall cardboard boxes, extra large buble wrap, polypropylene packaging tape, pvc pipe with high resistance.Shipment is guaranteed within 24 hours after receiving payment. We have had some problems with our traditional shipping methods (lost packages, major slowdown in delivery) therefore we decided to move to Fedex Priority Service. So, the shipping costs are now slightly more expensive (between $45 and $100 depending on destination country, volume and weight of the parcel) but the service is greatly better.FedEx requires a telephone number (landline or mobile) on the shipping label. For this reason we kindly ask you to tell us your phone number on the Paypal or with an message. If you are interested please don\'t hesitate to contact us.We are at your disposal for any further information. We usually reply e-mails within the same day, but please allow do bear in mind that our time zone differences might cause a slight delay. Thanks for your time and happy offerding
