CGC Graded 6.5 (Fine Plus condition) with Off-White to White Pages. Label notes: “Veryminor amount of glue on cover.”
This is the highest graded copy on the CGC census, and it’s not even close (next highest is a5.0, then two 4.0’s). Overstreet only lists prices up to VF on this book ($12,200 in VF), but if heincluded a NM- price, it would put this issue on the Top 100 Golden Age Comics list (eventhough technically, this issue pre-dates the Golden Age by two years).
1st appearances of Flash Gordon, Brick Bradford, Henry and Mandrake the Magician. Popeyefirst appeared in several Platinum Age (oversized/cardboard cover) comics before this issue, soI believe this is why CGC/Overstreet do not recognize this as his first comic book appearance;but this is the first standard comic book that he ever appeared in.
A book that very rarely comes up for sale in any grade, and truly the best copy that you will everfind.
