Awaiting your purchase is a spectacular solid silver (.875) Imperial Russia inkwell forged by one of the finest firms,Grachev Brothers (a holder of the imperial warrant)ofSaint-Petersburg sometime between 1896 - 1908.This attractive item remains in excellent antique condition, and bears no monograms. Very heavy gauge silver!
The base is punched with the first kokoshnik mark, signifying an assay date of 1896-1908, the silver standard of 84 zolotniks, and the initials of the assay master A. Richter, St Petersburg, plus the mark of the maker, the Grachev Brothers, with the double-headed eagle, the Imperial Warrant mark. Every separate piece has been stamped with the kokoshnik mark.
