MECHANICAL BANK 1920's POPEYE KNOCKOUT BANK - ALL ORIGINAL:
FOR SERIOUS COLLECTORS OF MECHANICAL BANKS
Popeye Knockout Bank. This is the rarer of the two tin lithograph mechanical banks manufactured by the Straits Corp., Detroit Michigan. 1929. The Popeye bank was the first of the two banks produced but apparently because of trademark infringement was forced to discontinue this version and produce the "Joe Socko" variety. The bank is in excellent-plus or better condition but you be the judge. Morphy's price guide lists this bank in similar condition at $1200 or more (see last pic).
I am offering this bank to serious collectors at a very low reserve.
I do not have the key but the bank is easy to open without it.Date: 1929
Composition: Tin Lithograph
Dimensions: 4 1/2" (H) x 3 1/2" (L) x 2 1/4" (W)Operation: Place a coin in the slot and turn Popeye to the right until he sets in position. Lift his opponent to his feat and when the coin is deposited, Joe will deliver the KO punch.SHIP ONLY TO CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES
