We are delighted to offer this replica of the original part of King Tutankhamun’s treasures 18th Dynasty C1340 BC, from the Tomb of King Tutankhamun (Tut); a Cartouche Ungent Ointment Jar. We are not certain, but believe this piece was offered through Artisans Guild International, who produced replicas in the 1980’s. Only a small number were made available, and a slim few remain. The piece is made of resin. On each side is a lively scene of animals engaged in combat. At the base are two heads of Africans and two Asians, who were defeated in battle. This full size replica is features intricate hand detailing. You will note from the photos provided of this piece as pictured in the book “The Gold of Tutankhamen,” the lid is missing. We are pleased to have found this part of this incredible item. It will certainly enhance any King Tut collection.
