RARE Thoth Tarot Deck Vintage White Box B. (WITH RARE CARDS- 8 of Cups Missing The Number at the Top and The Ace of Pentacles is printed Upside-Down) - Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. New York:Samuel Weiser,ND [1973].First Weiser Edition - Later Printing.78 tarot cards + "Caliph Card" in original 2 part box. Card size 5 1/2" x 3 3/4". Original printed outer slipcase with thumb-notches, cardboard inner box with gilt metallic finish covering and thumb notches. A later printing of the first Weiser publication of the Thoth Tarot deck (sometimes known as "White Box B.") This first Weiser edition was published in conjunction with Llewellyn in 1973 - who simultaneously produced several printings under their own imprint. It followed the first color printing of the full Thoth deck by Llewellyn in 1972 (not 1969, as is commonly but erroneously thought) and was published with the collaboration of Grady McMurtry (then Caliph of the O.T.O), Lee Heflin, and Gerald Yorke. The later printings of the Weiser "White Box B" are distinguishable in that they correct two errors that were carried over from the "White Box A" printing: the "Eight of Cups" no longer lacks the numeral that is normally stamped in the upper margin, and the image on the "Ace of Disks" is printed the correct was up (in the early printings it was upside down- BOTH CARDS WITH ERRORS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS DECK-AS SHOWN IN PICTURES). This edition was not accompanied by an explanatory booklet. In early printings such the PO Box number on that card is 2043 ( AS SEEN IN THIS DECK- SHOWN IN PICTURES) , in later printings it was typically changed to 1111. This deck has the card with the PO Box number 2043 suggesting that it was one of the first of the later printings. The cards themselves are in good condition- the knight of wands was once bent but it does not stand out nor does it affect any shuffling of the deck. Regarding the original two-piece printed box: the outer box is lightly rubbed and somewhat darkened, the inner box shows slight rubbing and wear.
