The Bernhardt company introduced Enigma as part of the Opus collection of furniture designed by leading architects and designers.
The formal qualities of Enigma suggest movement and repose, you are invited to enjoy Enigma at many levels; some challenging, some soothing, all mysterious.
The product received a 1987 IBD Silver Award from the Institute of Business Designers.
If you\'re a Haigh design fan, good luck finding these ever again. They come up like once every decade. The enigma was one of 3 chairs designed by the acclaimed designer for Bernhardt as part of the Opus Collection from 1987 to 1995.
In VERY good Vintage condition with original upholstery, no refinishing. A few nicks and scuffs consistent with a very well cared for designer chairs of the age.
The provenance on these specific chairs is also interesting, they came from the office of the original flagship location of the Capital Grille in Providence RI years ago. Clearly they were trying to make an impression with these!
