Copper plateengravings can be of fine quality or good quality. The quality of this actual engraving is only \"good.\" Blank margins size is as shown in sale image. The print portrays a sphinx of marble from Paros, with a beautiful face portrait, shown front view and side view. This was found in Pompeii under the peristyle of the House of the Faun. This Sphinx has of a body of dog with two large feathered wings.
