Jesus Peeved -Bitch Lady in White House Wants Him to SERVE HER- by Kata Billups:
$583000.00

TITLE : She ONLY called HIM When She NEEDED Him

Thousands of collectors across the USA, Canada, and Europe own my work.

Many celebrities also collect my work. Willie Nelson, Trisha Yearwood, Susan Sarandon,

Julia Roberts, Jimmy Vaughan and R.E.M. are just a few of my celebrity collectors.

ARTIST\'S DESCRIPTION OF PAINTING:

This scenario from my imagination shows Jesus in a purple robe wearing His crown or thorns.

The setting is a room in the White House.

A rich lady in a ridiculous orange donut shaped couture dress with matching boots is too lazy to finish dressing herself

so she called Jesus to help her. It\'s the only time she called Him in the last ten years

(when something happened like her exotic cat died or something....)

He is gritting his teeth as he tightens the laces on the back of her bustier dress.

She is bracing herself for the tugging and stands with her nose pointing straight up in the air (a universal sign of pride in body language).

She sees Jesus character in one light (as her personal servant).

If you\'d like to know more aboutthe way I am painting Christ-

please see my website katabillups.com and then the page spiritual art

here is a blog I wrote a few years ago.

tangled up inhang-ups

After over twenty years of being a believer in Christ, I finally came to the point where I decided

to cast aside my internal conflict because the confusion was strangling me.

I felt equip to begin painting Jesus the way I envisioned him. I still agonize internally over my work,

hoping that it will represent Jesus in a way which he would endorse.

There is also the external pressure from fellow Christians who misinterpret my work and do not grasp the spirit

with which I am creating my work. Many Christians think my work is disrespectful to Jesus in that it is either too silly,

or too serious, or too…something, but I have looked for strength in writers and musicians and a handful of artists

who share my own quest.

I agree with writers like Finley Eversole who say “we must seek an increase of imagination by means of which the biblical

and historic faith many be translated into terms that are meaningful to men today.” (Eversole,pp.13).

the greatest evangelical artist will probably come from rocky pasts. if we paint those rocky pasts-

we will relate to those we are trying to reach-

Curtis Chang has also given me encouragement. “The key will be to creatively tell stories that are new while

still remaining faithful to the gospel in the deepest sense.

For all their departures from their inherited epochal stories, Augustine and Aquinas made sure their new tales fit

within the deeper traditions of the church. We are seeking new versions of the Story, not original stories.

The latter are usually called heresies.”(Chang, pg. 164).

what’s that mean? we are not trying to write Celestine prophecies or paint Jesus with two heads…naturally…

but we are trying to paint work that SPEAKS the language of the hearers…

ARTIST\'s TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION :1. this Original painting is entirely hand painted (by me of course) on heavy cotton canvas. It was painted during the second year of my time in Graduate School (while receiving my M.F.A.). It is signed and dated 2004.2. the medium used is acrylic on canvas. Acrylic paints are now equal to or superior to oil paints in their longevity and light fastness. 3. the painting measures 3 \" deep, 53\" high and 40\" across.4. It may be shipped unframed or framed.

I currently create three categories of work.

This listing is category 1

a PRIMARY ORIGINAL of my work

CATEGORIES OF WORK:

1. PRIMARY ORIGINALS These are the most time-consuming and generally the largest in scale of my works. They are owned by hundreds of Private Individuals and many Museums worldwide. One Primary Original work of art can take me weeks, months or even years to create.I generally create only five to twenty pieces of this type work per year.2. VERSIONS OF WORK These are generally the second most time-consuming and expensive of my works. They are entirely hand-painted Versions of certain of my Primary Original PaintingsThe demand for them arose when Patrons admired my previously sold PRIMARY ORIGINAL pieces and wantedsomething similar but not necessarily as expensive. They are similar to but in no way identical to the Primary Originals after which they take their inspiration. They are also not merely a re-painting of my PRIMARY ORIGINALS because each one contains new artistic- discoveries. For instance, I am often inspired to rework the figures settings and colors- in ways that never occurred in the PRIMARY ORIGINALS.They become an extension- a continuation of the PRIMARY ORIGINALS fromwhich they are inspired.I typically spend a week, two weeks or even longer on each piece. They sometimes (but do not always) have unique frameswhich I embellish with one-of-a-kind mattes and vintage objects de\' art and unusual titles. They may be framed very simply -or be painted on gallery wrap canvas which requires no frame.I create only between ten to fifty pieces in this category of work each year. All these pieces are ethically technically legally (and in every way) Original Paintings.
3. REPLICA ORIGINALS These are generally my least expensive category of work. They also take me the least amount of time overall. Unlike the VERSIONS of WORK category,(see 2. above)these pieces are as close to being identical to the PRIMARY ORIGINALSas I can possibly manage. The only exception being the frames. They are entirely hand-painted (generally smaller)replicas of certain Primary Originals Ethically, technically and in every way, these pieces are also Original Paintings. These piecesrequire weeks for me to complete. They often have very unusual frames which I embellish with one-of-a-kindmattes and vintage objects de\' art and unusual titles. They may be painted on wood, canvas, or other materials.I usually create between twenty to one hundred pieces in this category of work each year.
4. SMALL GALLERY WRAP CANVAS REPLICA ORIGINALSThis is a new category I\'ve created just for 2021.

5. READY to HANG unique pieces created on 6 mil(almost .5\") heavy PVC.

I created this category of work as a happy accident.

I\'d long been wishing for a way to produce a body of work that would take me significantly less time to create;

butremain as unprecedented and one-of-a-kind as my other pieces.

I\'d been exploring products that I could print my art on and attachto the sides of my house as advertisement;

and came across this very heavy, durable, lightfast and waterproof PVC option.

It wasalsoa perfect solution to along standingdilemma;

how to introduce auniquelynew CATEGORY of WORK while at the same time

give myself more time to pursue spiritual goals.

The first step in this process is having certain pieces of my work printed on the thickest

PVC boardavailable. Read on- this is NOT \'just a print\'.

Then, I will bedoingsomethingtechnicallyknown as remarquing each piece.

A remaruqe is when an artist makes a print BUTpersonalizes each piece by

drawing or painting on part of the piece. PRESTO! Now the piece becomes an ORIGINAL-

please read on....The famous artist Whistler has gained a spot in thehistory

of remarquing with hischaracteristicbutterfly scribble remarque.

He dashed out a very simplistic butterfly at times while signing his name on a

printand thosepiecesaresignificantlymorevaluable than the ones without the butterfly.

Why?Wheneveran artist doesadditionalhand work on his or her own prints

(even if it\'s a twosecondbuttery likeWhistlerdid) that automatically

changes the piece into the category of an ORIGINAL (legally ethically and technically).

This issue has been debated many times and definitively settled in courts of law.

The areas I hand-paint will notsignificantlychange the image- but will be

more like visual background noise. I may choose to emphasize the colors in an area. or

add a flower or object withpaintsor permanent marker. Regardless, I willtake more

time personalizingeach piece than Whistler did!

Lastly, each piece comes with proper hanging apparatusfirmlyaffixed to the back.

NOTE:

I\'VE BEEN CREATING WORK IN CATEGORIES 2 AND 3 FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 TO 30 YEARS-

(and incategory4 just during 2021)

BUT BY THE END OF 2021 I HAVE DETERMINED TO COMPLETELY DISCONTINUE NEW CREATIONS IN THESE CATEGORIES.

I MADE THIS DECISION TO FOCUS MY ATTENTION ON

OTHER CREATIVE VENTURES SUCH AS THE OPENING OF MY FIRST PHYSICAL GALLERY,

CREATING NEW PRIMARY ORIGINALS,

AND SEVERAL SPIRITUAL GOALS.

IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING PURCHASING A PIECE IN THIS CATEGORY THIS COULD BE VERY GOOD NEWS FOR YOU

FOR SEVERAL REASONS. HERE ARE JUST A COUPLE OF THOSE REASONS...

1. IT IS HISTORICALLY VALUABLE TO OWN PIECES THAT CONSTITUTE THE LAST IN THE SERIES OF AN ARTIST\'S WORK.

2. LIMITING THE NUMBER OF PIECES IN CIRCULATION ELEVATES THE POTENTIAL

FOR AN ARTIST\'S WORK TO APPRECIATE. THIS IS SIMPLY STATED IN THE OLD ADAGE \'SUPPLY AND DEMAND\'.
