This coin is approximately1 1/2 inches in diameter. Very seldom, if ever seen.
The 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (1st SFOD-D), commonly referred to as Delta Force, Combat Applications Group/"CAG", "The Unit", Army Compartmented Element, or within JSOC as Task Force Green,[2] is an elite Special Mission Unit of the United States Army, under operational control of the Joint Special Operations Command. It is used for hostage rescue and counterterrorism, as well as direct action and reconnaissance against high-value targets. Delta Force and its U.S. Navy counterpart, DEVGRU "SEAL Team 6", are the United States military's primary counter-terrorism units and fall under the operational control of the Joint Special Operations Command. Delta Force and DEVGRU perform many of the most highly complex and dangerous missions in the U.S. military, often highly classified as well. These units are also often referred to as special mission units by the U.S. government.
Most Delta operators come from the United States Army Special Operations Command's elite 75th Ranger Regiment and Special Forces Groups as well as from the special operations units of other branches of the military, though also occasionally from conventional forces.

Army 'Combined Applications Group'The uncontested number one heavy-weight champ. The operators of operators, crème de la crème — even the SEALs who killed bin Laden wish they were a part of this crew.
Combined Applications Group is their old name, some call them Delta, but that was never an official name either. These guys are the absolute tip of the spear — Matt Bissonnette, one of the SEALs on the bin Laden raid, mentioned them in his book "No Easy Day" as if they were gods.
They are also the only group of special operators outside of SEAL Team 6 (ST6)where direct close contact with the enemy is a guarantee upon acceptance,regardless of whether America is officially at war or not.
They recruit from the nation's highest special operations units, only twice a year, to include ST6.
These are just a couple initial tests they have to pass:
- A timed 18-mile 'ruck-march' at night in which the candidate must carry 35 pounds in their rucksack.
- A timed 40 mile route while carrying a 45 pound ruck sack over rough, steep terrain.
Then they have a rigorous battery ofpsychological tests. If, after those tests, they're found to qualify, they attend a six-month training course.
If they pass the course, they cease to exist. It's said they work hand-in-hand with the nation's highest paramilitary and intelligence agencies.

Tier 1 - Special Missions Units
United States
Special mission units are commanded and controlled by Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) of U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). In addition to performing highly classified activities the special mission units are also tasked with "special missions", sometimes referring to unconventional warfare, counter-terrorist activities, direct action, Special reconnaissance, and/or black operations.[2][3][4][5] So far, only four SMUs have been publicly disclosed:
- The Army's 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment – Delta
- The Army's 75th Ranger Regiment: Regimental Reconnaissance Company
- The Navy's Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU)
- The Air Force's 24th Special Tactics Squadron (24 from the Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment and 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (160th SOAR), and are controlled by JSOC when deployed as part of JSOC Task Forces such as Task Force 121 and Task Force 145.[13][14][15][16]
The Intelligence Support Activity (ISA) is also under JSOC and has been referred to as a special mission unit.[17][7][9][10] The ISA collects specific target intelligence prior to SMU missions, and provides signals support, etc. during those mission.[7][9][10] The Army once maintained the ISA, but after the September 11 attacks, the Pentagon shifted direct control to Joint Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, NC.[18]
