October 30th 2020, it was cold, real cold, snow on the ground. I went outside and grabbed my 2 pumpkins and brought them in the house to carve. Man were the pumpkin guts cold. I\'m talking Margaritaville cold. I brought them back outside and put candles in them to take pictures. I decided to to do a sound check as well and dress up like Michael Myers with this exact mask. I put on the 1978 Halloween Record(original)and froze my you know what off posing in front of the jack of lanterns and pumpkins. After about 15 minutes or so I went back in the house and noticed lights out front as I was turning off the music which was playing out the window. At first I thought it was my brother but shield my eyes from the glare and peering out the frosted window(it was below freezing)I saw a squad car. Then there was a knock on the door. It was 11 P.M. There a cop in the door threatening to give me a summons for playing loud music. I tried to explain to him I was doing a sound test for Halloween and that I have run a home haunt for over 30 years. He countered that multiple people complained and that if I played the music tomorrow I would be ticketed/receive a summons to court. I was like @#$% that. What kind of of @#$% is this? This has never happened before. So the next night I set up and played the music and stood out waiting for trick or treats to give them a full size Hersheys candy bar a piece. Mind you I spent the last of my money on the candy($60), Halloween sales were atrocious because of the pandemic. So along with the music which featured the Halloween theme since I was dressed up as Michael Myers I played J.S. Bach, various horror movie themes and had a police radio on. The music was not that loud. Put it this way I had no trouble hearing a complaint about noise at about 9 P.M. Mind you the police allow parties playing gangsta rap music until 2 A.M. in the morning!! Many of those parties result in people being shot and killed like a few weeks ago a 16 year old was murdered. People are only scared half to death at my Halloween party. I got 1 trick or treater and even gave her mother a candy bar and also to some of the neighbors. I always considered Halloween home haunting to be a form of community service. Not because I was feeding people but because I was giving them a great Halloween memory. People refer to my house as the spook house or the house where the monsters live. I\'ve got skeletons hanging from the house right now. Well after hearing the call on the police radio, having stood out in the cold for 6 hours or more I turned off the lights and shut the music off. I was really depressed. I have reoccurring nightmares that I slept through Halloween and have had those dreams for decades. I also know what the kids want, they want Michael Myers. I remember one year some kid kept talking to me while I was handing out candy saying I was his favorite serial killer ha! Another year I didn\'t dress up and the kids were all wondering where Michael was. So there I sat all tired and decided to change costumes. I slowly tore a Scream Team Hellacious foam latex mask from my face , ran into the house dressed up as Myers. Took the dog for a walk around the block wearing the mask. Came back home and heard some kids down the street. It was like 10 P.M. the streets were dead. I sat in a chair on the front lawn and didn\'t make a sound. All 5 or 6 teens walked by...then one turned around and saw me and they all ran over and thought it was epic. Yes, I am the boogieman on my block. So what\'s this listing for? Mostly entertainment :D The mask is not worth the price, my story might be. After all I need the mask so I can scare everyone Halloween night. So to pry it away from me will come at a price. However I\'ll put the money to good use and buy a new Taylor 12 string :D Oh I\'m a rock star don\'t you know, albeit a poor one with a worn out Martin. :P. Eyes are not included. They\'re to make you look. Happy Halloween!
