This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features a John C. Merrill patent, dated December 26, 1876. This wire is called "Merrill's Two Point Twirl Around Two Lines - All Galvanized" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 1077-B VARIATION - Hagemeier does not show this being all galvanized). This wire features two twisted together round line wires. Barbs are two pointed made from round stock. Barb is bent into a staple and wrapped around both wires. This sample is 18" in length and has three barbs,. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is fairly well centered. Wire shows light age wear, with minimal pitting. There are no bent, broken or repaired barbs. Wire is in in very good used condition. There are no off odors.This wire has a Symposium Value of $25I have listed other wires, both as sale and fixed price listings.
