This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features a Purches Miles patent, dated October 8, 1878. This wire is called \"Miles Two Point Staple on One of Two Lines with Extra Long and Very Short Points\", by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 1605-B ). This wire features two twisted together round line wires. Barbs are two pointed made from round stock. Barb is wrapped once around one line wire only. Barbs are wrapped with one extra long point, and one very short point. This sample is 18\" in length and has five barbs,. Barbs are fairly well spaced, with an extra barb at one end. Wire shows age wear, with light pitting. There is bending of points, but no missing, broken or repaired barbs. Wire is in in good used condition. There are no off odors.I have listed other wires, both as sale and fixed price listings.
