Original hand-signed autograph ofGeorge Bernard SHAW(1856-1950), a renowned Irish author and playwright; together with a rare authentic photograph signed and dated byGermaine KAHNOVA(also known as Kahn), a revered photographer of Franco-Czech origins who worked in London photographing actors, politicians and writers during and around the time of the Second World War. She also worked as a war photographer; enlisted in 1944 as a war correspondent with the armed forces film service (SCA), she followed the liberation operations in Alsace and then Germany. In 1945, Kahn was awarded the Croix de Guerre by the French government for her courage and work with the French Resistance.
Matted and set under glass, the artwork comes with a heavier gilded frame, measuring 7.75x9.75 inches (19.5x24.5 cm). A sticker from JP\'s Gallery in Philadelphia on the rear. In excellent, undamaged condition.
