This is a used sample of antique barbed wire fencing. This sample features a Hiram B. Scutt patent, dated December 22, 1885. . This wire is called \"Scutt\'s Crimped H Glat Barb on Two of Three Lines\", by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 815-B) . This wire features three twisted together round line wires. Barbs are two pointed made from flat barbing stock. Center of barb is crimped in a tight \"U\" shape between two of the line wires. Each barbing point is then wrapped around both lines and laid flat agains the \"U\". Barbs are on two of the three wires, and third line is non barbed. This sample is 18\" in length and has six barbs,. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. Wire shows age wear, with light pitting. There are no bent, broken or repaired barbs. Wire is in very good used condition. There are no off odors.This is a fairly hard to find three strand with a Symposium Value of $35.I have listed other wires, both as sale and fixed price listings.
