Stunning cobalt blue statue of ancient Egyptian goddess "Sekhmet".
Sekhmet, the lion-headed goddess in Egyptian mythology was dreaded as being the fiercest warrior goddess, yet she became the protector of kings and is considered even as the goddess of healing and medicine.
Owing to the dual nature as destroyer and protector, this Sekhmet Statue will make a powerful guardian protecting and watching over your home, who can also heal you and your family, and cleanse your house of negative energy as well.The ring, placed between the forepaws of the crouching statue, represents the Solar disk which is commonly depicted on her head, symbolizing her character as a powerful solar deity, sometimes called the daughter of the sun god Ra.

The mark incised on the bottom may denote the kanji character "幸(Kou)", the first letter of manufacturer's name 幸兵衛(Kou-be-i)

This item was made by Japanese pottery maker, Koubei-gama, founded in 1804 by Koubei Kato the First in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. The present, seventh leader of the Katos is Koubei Kato Ⅲ. In the early 1980s, his father, the sixth family head Takuo Kato successfully restored the luster glaze technique of Persian Lusterware, which disappeared around 16th to 17th centuries.
In recognition of the achievement, he was designated as a Living National Treasure of Japan.
