Size: Approximately 5” X 5”
Weight: 6.45 Ounces
Material: Bronze
Tutankhamun (c. 1341 – c. 1323 BC) was an Egyptian Pharaoh of the 18th dynasty who ruled c. 1332–1323 B.C. during the period of Egyptian history known as the New Kingdom. Sometimes this period is referred to as the New Empire Period.
With the discovery of his intact tomb we refer to him as King Tut.
Tutankhaten means \"Living Image of Aten.\"
Aten refers to the disk of the sun in ancient Egyptian Mythology and was originally an aspect of the god Ra while Tutankhamun means \"Living Image of Amun\".
Tutankhamun was the son of Akhenaten and as a Prince was known as Tutankhaten. He apparently ascended to the throne in 1333 BC, at the age of nine or ten after the death of Akhenatan. He moved his residence to Memphis, the Administrative Capitol of modern Cario, Lower Egypt.
When he became King, he married his half-sister, Ankhesenpaaten, who later changed her name to Ankhesenamun. They had two daughters who did not live passed infancy.I have never seen a piece like this since I purchased it some 18 years ago and understand that it is extremely rare.
