On offer is an ORIGINAL underglaze transfer printed Anchovy paste pot lid and original matching base. Transferred "BURGESS'S GENUINE ANCHOVY PASTE, for toast, biscuit & c, The original fish sauce warehouse, 107 Strand corner of the Savoy steps London" and with Queen Victoria's coat of arms in the middle.Its 3.5 inches diameter (92mm) Dates to the 1890s.
The lid is in very good condition with no cracks, staining or repairs. There is just 3 very small nicks to the underside edge. The original base is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, staining or repairs.
