Restoration crews are currently in the process of cleaning off the painted surfaces inside the temple. This wonderfully carved and painted representation of the goddess Nekhbet has not looked this good for over 2000 years. The white square in which the winged serpent is sitting has been cleaned. Compare the hieroglyphs directly behind the goddess to those on the far left. The difference is remarkable.
