Petrus Regout & Co Maastricht Abbey Blue PattnSaucers for Coffee/Tea Cup Sphinx:
$60.00
This beautiful set of 6 coffee/tea saucers are over 100 years old. Based on the sphinx trademark and the made in Holland beneath the pattern name(Abbey) these are known to have been made from 1880’s to early 1900’s(1910). Also for further authenticity plates have an anchor or sideway arrow and some also show a letter(R). These were impressed into damp clay before the piece went into firing and before blue transfer or glaze. These served as internal factory tracking for the pottery artisans. These plates are in wonderful shape very good color and glaze, I found no discoloration front or back. Only imperfection noticed is last picture a very minimal possible glaze skip or tiny flea bite. The last few pictures show small bumps that appear to be stilt or kiln marks original manufacturing artifact not damage. Please see all pictures.
