This vintage postcard features a beautiful artistic rendering of sailing feluccas on the Nile River at sunset by renowned Egyptian artist Aziz Bishai. The scene is rich with atmospheric color, depicting palm trees and dwellings along the riverbanks. Published by the Eastern Publishing Company of Cairo, this card dates to the United Arab Republic (U.A.R.) era (1958-1971). Consistent with the Divided Back era style, it includes printed text in both English and Arabic on the reverse. A wonderful piece of mid-century Egyptian art and postal history.
