The One That Got Away,This License Plate is one of five printed and it is the only survivor!The Story,
This story starts in the mid 80's, The end of 85 to be exact. A convict working the line spun 5 plates after the orange state was sprayed in the center, this made it upside down and backwards once stamped. (See pics) This made the news, and a bounty was issued, Two-year tag plus $125.00! Four out of five people turned their tag in, I did not. I believe this was for Duval County only, the story first aired on Jax 4 news late 85 to early 86 explaining the mishap and offering a bounty. The second airing was a couple of weeks later and they reported 4 out of 5 were turned in. This was in print in the Florida sun times. They wanted these tags back for unknown reasons. This is the only survivor.
There were a few misprints that got out but only 5 had a bounty on them. The person was caught turning 5 consecutive plates but somehow, they got out. That is why the bounty was issued also due to the fact they knew someone was doing it. They wanted him and the tags bad! The rest of the story will come soon.
