Attention all Marines and Marine Corps patch enthusiasts! This is a FINE commemorative patch for veterans of 3rd Anti-Tank Battalion of Third Marine Division. These can't be found just anywhere! Not, of course, allowed on the uniform, but worn on all manner of off-duty civilian caps and clothing as novelty items.
Third Anti-Tank Battalion was an organic part of the 3rd MarDiv. They had a brief, but but honorable history, including Vietnam where they served with distinction! Marine Anti-Tank Battalions were organized around the M50 Ontos anti-tank vehicle in the mid-fifties. The Ontos (Greek for “the thing”) packed a BIG PUNCH with six 106mm recoilless rifles for its main armament.
3rd AT Bn deployed to Vietnam in July 1965. With few enemy armor vehicles to counter, the Ontos was used mainly as fire support for infantry. By the end of 1967 the battalion was deactivated, and vehicles merged into 3rd Tank Bn. But during the 1968 Tet Offensive, Ontos and their crewmen served with distinction in fierce urban fighting in the Battle of Hue!
Produced by and for Vietnam veterans, this nice big 4.5 inch patch would be a great commemorative for any former member of the battalion, and a welcome addition to any armor unit patch collection! Please Visit my store to see patches for 1st Anti-Tank ONTOS Battalion and 2nd Anti-Tank TOW Company!
This is a BRAND NEW and UNUSED patch. It is NOT a war relic but a recent manufacture item! Embroidered on red twill with cut (non-merrowed) edge and plastic heat-sealed backing. Colors are clean and bright. See ruler in photo for size comparison.

Messages communicating info about a listed item are appreciated ..... but may not get response quite as fast as a message that requires immediate answer. I do have to prioritize every now and then. ;-)Packaging & Reliability:
My flat-fee shipping structure covers cost of packaging and postage, and is a best-guess estimate for size and weight of items. It's not an exact science. (I have not raised my shipping fees over the years, despite several postal rate increases.) Items ship in zip-closure poly bags to protect from moisture. Patches usually ship as First Class letters, but multiple items may ship together as a parcel.
In my experience, the track record of US Postal Service delivery within the US is practically 100% reliable. I may at my discretion choose tracking and/or insurance for shipments of a certain value. But the best insurance you can have is to make sure you provide a current and correct postal delivery address, and to check your mailbox regularly.
Items ship within 1 business day of receiving payment. Check my response for satisfied customer testimonials!
I always post response after a completed transaction and always appreciate response from satisfied buyers. Normally takes me only a day or two, but sometimes I get behind. Please be patient. Also, if you are dissatisfied in any way, please contact me before posting negative. Maybe there's a misunderstanding, or something we can work out.Return Policy:

Payment (or communication indicating buyer’s intentions) within three (3) business days is appreciated. If no response, a reminder invoice is sent. If I don't hear from a buyer — in any form — after more than ten (10) business days, a case may eventually be filed with ’s Resolution Center to recover the Final Value Fee (’s commission) on a sale not completed. In the case of an sale, this usually results in the item being re-listed. :-(
