Disney's Fort Wilderness Railroad 4/5 Scale Steam Engine Train Car:
Opening in 1973, the Fort Wilderness Railroad was a 4/5 scale fully operational steam train that ran through the extensive property of the Fort Wilderness Campground. Built by MAP in GlendaleCalifornia. This car was lovinglysaved and restored to it's original condition. Original working Interior lights included. Stored in climate controlledbuilding.
The Fort Wilderness locomotives were to modeled after the Forney 0-4-2T built by Baldwin Locomotive Works of Philadelphia. Baldwin introduced these locomotives in 1882 to transport sugar cane from the fields of Hawaii to the refineries. These small steam engines would navigate the campground route well due to their compact design. Disney had Robert McDonnell design the overall look and graphics for the cars and engines. Disney decided to build 4/5 scale engines and coaches from the ground up.
This was the car directly connectedto an Engine. One of only 20 passenger cars produced in 1972. Only a handful of cars are left and none in this level of restored condition. Set on 30" Gaugetrack. Includes special trailer. Extra items will be included such as track, Spikes, ect.. Will furnish additional pictures to interested parties.
I have shipping set to Local pick up but will work with any serious buyer on delivery. For United States locations, excluding a few select locations we will Deliver.
